History
IEHN was founded in 2004 by long time environmental health leader, Dr. Richard Liroff and legal expert in shareholder engagement on corporate responsibility, Sanford Lewis. For over a decade, IEHN worked with investors and companies to reduce risks of hazardous chemicals in their products and supply chains, and to leverage new business opportunities associated with safer chemicals. Dr. Liroff received the 2017 SRI Service Award Winner recognizing Sustainable, Responsible, Impact Investment Industry Leadership. Richard Liroff and Cliff Feigenbaum were named as 2017’s most influential leaders in SRI.
At the end of 2018, upon Dr. Liroff's retirement, IEHN became a program of Clean Production Action.
